What Users Must Prepare

Before Sending a Request

Project Date, Time, and Duration

Include this in the project details to help interpreters easily check whether they can accept your projects. If these details are flexible or uncertain, discuss the changes with your interpreter by sending them a Direct Message prior to making a Request.

Location

An exact address would help the interpreter prepare his/her travel time; optional in cases that would compromise confidentiality

Project Type

Include what your ineterpreters are expected to do, if it’s a one-on-one meeting, a recurring assignment, a short/long-term engagement, a conference, onstage presentation, etc.

Code of Ethics for Clients

  • Read interpreters’ My Page profiles carefully and be sure to match your needs with their skills and experiences. Give them study materials to help them prepare for the assignment.
  • Establish strong professional relationships with your interpreters. Those who regularly work with you will most likely try to accommodate you whenever you need them.
  • Always treat interpreters as you’d like to be treated. Interpreters will accept your projects and fit them with their schedules especially if they enjoy working with you.
  • Clearly communicate the details of your project to your interpreters to avoid misunderstandings (e.g. if travel time counts as interpreting time, who they’ll interpret for and their expectations).
  • Anticipate busy times when the demand for interpreters is high (e.g. international conference season).
  • If your demand for interpreters is high, you may choose an agency member of eQQui to assist you.

Fixing Minor Technical Issues

I can’t chat with interpreters and see their full profiles.

Make sure you’ve completed your account verification with eQQui. Only then can you view the profiles of all interpreters, including those who opted to show it only to registered members Once done, you’ll also be able send and receive Direct Messages.

My app doesn’t seem to function. You may be encountering errors you can troubleshoot on your own, so try to:

  • Perform a hard reset by turning your phone off and back on
  • Disable your WiFi connection or check your mobile data
  • Reboot your device to reset the network connection
  • Reset your brower settings and clear your cache
  • Refresh the site, or close the app and reopen it
  • Toggle your airplane mode on and off
  • Log out and log back in
  • Force quit the app

Project Management Policies

  1. The Client must confirm the request and provide the study/topic material at least 2 weeks before the event to the interpreters.
  2. Simultaneous Interpretation has a standard requirement of 2 interpreters per target language. Should the interpreter come from overseas. the Client shall pay for the travel expenses (i.e. plane and provide food and accommodattion). Otherwise, we shall send a revised quote reflecting the charges for the aforementioned.
  3. If the interpretation event exceeds more than 8 hours, the succeeding hours will be charged to the hourly charge of the language pair.
  4. Cancellation fees applies: 50% of the total applies for requests canccelled before the event date and 100% not more than three (3) days before the event. Initial deposit is non-refundable. *Items under "other charges" should be paid in full.
  5. Different rates apply for Metro Manila and out-of town events.

Equipment Rental Policies

  1. The rate stated for Simultaneous Interpretation equipment is the daily rate for 8 hours use. Rate depend on the location of the event.
  2. Request for early set-up and rehearsal will be charged: Php 3,000 (Metro Manila), Php 5,000 (Luzon), Php 8,000 (Visayas) Php 10,000 (Mindanao).
  3. The client shall provide the meal of the technical crew in the duration of the event. For out-of town services, the client shall provide the travel expenses (i.e. plane and provide food and accommodation) of the technical crew.
  4. Likewise, a handling fee shall be charged for out-of-town events: Php 15,000 (Luzon), Php 25,000 (Visayas), and Php 30,000 (Mindanao).
  5. Cancellation fees applies : 50% of the total cost applies for requests cancelled at least 4 days before the event date and 100% for cancellation not more than 3 days before the event. Initial deposit is non-refundable. *Items under "other charges" should be paid in full.
  6. In case of loss of equipment (mic, earphone, beltpack, etc.), the Client shall pay for the cost of repairing or purchasing the item.
  7. For outdoor set-up, client must provide scaffolding for the screen.
  8. Different rates apply for Metro Manila and out-of-town events.
